First dive of our 2007 Mexico trip and with Claudia and Karen. This dive
location gets its name due to a motorcycle at the end of the dive that was
sunk a few years back.
The best part about this dive was the turtles. I got some pics of them, but I missed the
greatest photo opportunity ever because I was just too flabbergasted to
remember to take pics. One of the dive shop folks and I were at our 15 foot
safety stop when he started pointing over my shoulder. I turned around and
about 10 feet away was the biggest turtle I'd ever seen in my life. He must
have been about five feet in length and maybe three and a half feet across.
He was swimming straight towards me at eye-level. He didn't look like he was
stopping and I was trying to figure out if I should try dodging or what. He
finally stopped just six inches from my facemask before turning away and
swimming on. I just didn't even think to bring up the camera for a pic.
